We're excited you're about to take the first step in becoming a Kenyon student. We're here to help guide you through the application process and make it as easy as possible.

Our application is available online only and may be submitted electronically; there is no application fee for online submission. If you have any questions about the admissions process, please contact us. We’re here to help.

Admissions Deadlines

January 15 is the deadline for first year regular decision applicants. Remember to check the Dates & Deadlines page for the complete list of admissions deadlines.

Application Options

Early vs Regular Decision Applicants

As a first-year applicant, you have three application options: Early Decision 1, Early Decision 2 or Regular Decision. If you feel strongly that Kenyon is your first choice, Early Decision may be a good option for you. More on Early Decision.

International Applicants

International applicants use the same application as U.S. citizens with some differences in the process and required documents. More on international applicants.

Transfer Applicants

We also have separate guidelines if you are interested in transferring to Kenyon. More on transfer applicants.

How to Apply

Common App or Coalition App

We accept both the Common Appand the Coalition App To get started, create an account with either one and select Kenyon College to add to your list of colleges

Required Documents

Secondary School Report
This must include a list of senior year courses and grades, and accompany your official transcript.

Teacher evaluation
We prefer the recommendation be provided by an instructor who taught you in a year-long, traditional college-preparatory course in your junior year. Additional teacher recommendations may be submitted as optional information.

Standardized Tests
All applicants are required to submit results from either the SAT or ACT. We do not have a preference — you are not required to submit results from both tests.  Kenyon will review applications using either official or self-reported SAT or ACT score results. Please note that Kenyon "super-scores" results for both the SAT and ACT. SAT Subject, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate results are not required for admission to Kenyon. Read more about standardized testing at Kenyon.

Optional Portfolio
Prospective students who have an interest and demonstrable ability in art, music or creative writing may elect to submit a portfolio. Refer to the portfolio guidelines.

Mid-year Grade Report
Your secondary school college counselor completes this form.

Interviews

Interviews are a recommended (but not required) part of the admissions process. They are a great way for the admissions office to learn more about you as a student and for you to learn more about Kenyon. Learn more about interview options.
